Jenny Pena Dias – Hayes

Dr. Dias is a physiologist. She received her BSc in Biomedical Science, MSc and Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Montreal, her MPH from Johns Hopkins University, and a postdoctoral fellowship from NIA, National Institute of Health (NIH). Dr. Dias is a faculty member in a prestigious health research university. She has studied the pathophysiology of diabetes type 2, obesity, and their complications utilizing in vivo rodent models, in vitro biochemical techniques as well as epidemiological and clinical trial data. She has published several scientific papers. Her research interests are in biomarkers of aging, diabetes, HIV, cardiovascular disease, and sex hormones. Also, she advises community organizations, local agencies on public health issues to reduce chronic disease in vulnerable populations. Dr. Dias is fluent in Spanish, French, Portuguese and English.
