Maryland SNAP Update
While the Trump Administration skirts its responsibility to fully fund SNAP, Maryland is taking action. On November 3rd, Governor Moore issued an emergency order to provide Maryland SNAP customers a state supplemental benefit in the amount of 50% of their monthly SNAP benefit on their EBT cards starting November 11.
Maryland SNAP customers who usually receive SNAP benefits on or before November 11 will receive the state supplemental benefit starting on the 11th. All other customers will receive the state supplemental benefit when they would normally receive SNAP benefits.
Because of pending litigation and near daily conflicting federal guidance, we do not know when normal federal SNAP benefits will resume. We will update information on federal SNAP funding as we learn more.
We recognize the uncertainty from the federal government is a tremendous burden for Maryland families and we are working to ensure customers receive their benefits as quickly as possible.
