
Daniel Wait
Deputy Secretary for Talent and Customer Service
Dan Wait leads efforts in team development, retention, and customer service innovation. Overseeing TEAMs, the Office of Learning, OEPE, and Constituent Services, he is driving the implementation of a transformative customer call center contract.
Since joining DHS in 2009 as an Employee Relations Officer, Dan has earned multiple promotions, including serving as Director of HRDT and Deputy Secretary of Operations. He has played a key role in streamlining procurement, addressing departmental vacancies, and advancing the agency’s technology needs.
A graduate of SUNY Albany with a BA in Political Science, Dan is also an alumnus of the Leadership Development Initiative (LDI) and past President of the LDI Alumni Association (2015–2017).
