In addition to her outstanding academic achievements, Emily’s creative talents shine through multiple publications on national teen magazine and her recognition in the Scholastic Art and Writing competition with a Gold Key. Additionally, she holds the officer-at-large position for the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club. Her passion for civic engagement is evident in her internship with a Maryland State Delegate, where she hones her research and analytical skills while gaining firsthand experience in government and policy development.

A true advocate for alleviating hunger, she co-founded Loving Hands Alliance during the COVID-19 pandemic and provided 1500+ homemade meals to homeless shelters. For the past four years, Emily has served as a core volunteer at Columbia Community Care, distributing food and assisting with translation in Chinese and Spanish biweekly. She has organized over 500 volunteers for Chinese American Parent Association (CAPA)’s Harvest for the Hungry events and Annual Turkey Drives, ensuring that hundreds have access to essential resources during the holidays.

Her commitment extends beyond food security; she led CAPA Youth group partnering with Kits to Heart to create 450 no-sew blankets and 400 holiday cards for cancer patients, bringing comfort and joy during difficult times. Every summer, Emily dedicates her time and talents to the Pheasant Ridge Rapids Summer Swim Team, coordinating crucial aspects like concessions, pep rallies, and award banquets. Her dedication has been recognized with the prestigious President’s Volunteer Service Gold Awards, a testament to her over 600 hours of service.
