“The Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023” included “Snap Provisions” which affect young adults who have interaction with Maryland’s Foster Care system through out-of-home placement.
These SNAP Provisions reinstate Able Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWD) standards for Maryland SNAP applicants and establish an additional exemption from the ABAWD time-limit for individuals age 24 or younger who were in foster care on their 18th birthday.
Maryland’s MyLife website is a part of the Youth Matter! movement that continues to occur across the state of Maryland. MYLIFE is an acronym which stands for Maryland Youth Launching Initiatives For Empowerment (MYLIFE).
