The Federal Government Shutdown
The federal government has entered a period of shutdown starting at midnight on 10/1/25. Our focus is on serving and investing in Marylanders who need our help. We will work as one team across the state to do all we can to provide world-class customer service until matters at the federal level are resolved. This is an evolving situation, and we will act with transparency to provide information as it becomes available. We continue to invite Marylanders to apply for benefits at MarylandBenefits.gov.
