Statewide Nutrition Assistance Equipment Program (SNAEP)

The Statewide Nutrition Assistance Equipment Program provides annual grants to emergency food providers to enable them to purchase equipment such as freezers and other appliances that will increase their capacity to purchase, store and distribute food. Funds are available for all jurisdictions.

FY2027 – FY2028 SNAEP Guidelines and Application Package

Effective Monday, September 21, 2026: The Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 -2028 Statewide Nutrition Assistance Equipment Program (SNAEP) application process is NOW OPEN! Applicants must review the guidelines below for detailed information regarding eligibility, application requirements, and submission instructions.

This year’s application is a combined electronic application for both the Maryland Emergency Food Program (MEFP) and Statewide Nutrition Assistance Equipment Program (SNAEP) and can be found here: FY2027 – FY2028 Joint Food & Equipment Grant Application. Applicant organizations seeking funding through either program can complete one online application.

Paper applications will not be accepted.
