Operations:

This Unit’s main purpose is to serve the OIG, DHS and LDSS in developing and utilizing its workforce to its full potential with regards to the prevention of fraud, waste and abuse of program allocations. Operations focus on ensuring staff training, office quality control; acting as State, Federal, and Local Government liaison; managing office personnel issues, office and technical services, building facilities and management of OIG’s budget and procurement.

Information Technology:

This Unit’s main purpose is to serve the OIG in developing and utilizing its workforce to its full potential through systems automation and computer technology. This Unit is responsible for the administration of network servers, workstation computers, and notebook/laptop computers. This Unit is responsible for the development and maintenance of databases for Program Fraud, Internal Audit, Internal Affairs, and Personnel. Also, this Unit has developed and maintains an OIG Intranet Web Site that utilizes various files on the server through VPN or a dial-up connection. Data Security with DHS mainframe systems for the OIG Department is an important function of this Unit. This Unit recommends, purchases, installs and maintains all hardware/software on the above-mentioned computers. This Unit is responsible for the purchase and inventory of IT supplies. This Unit also maintains a Training Library and provides personal/group training as necessary.
