Gloria D. Dent
Gloria D. Dentdedicated over 37 years of active federal service to our nation as an Army Logistician and Acquisition professional. Culminating her military career in 2010 as a US Army Command Sergeant Major, she is a highly decorated combat soldier who served twenty-six (26) years on active duty and has numerous combat and operational deployments in Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Somalia, Philippines, and Saudi Arabia.
In 2021, Gloria was appointed to the Anne Arundel County Board of Education, representing District I. She is the founder, and CEO of
Genergi Logistics, LLC, a service-disabled veteran and women owned company that provides warehouse and fulfilment operations to the public and private sectors throughout Maryland.
In 2019, Gloria and her husband co-founded iCommunity Connection Services, Inc, (ICCSU) a Maryland community-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with extensive expertise in large-scale community programs that focuses on empowering Veterans, young adults ages 16-25, and people with disabilities by leveraging education and community resources. Gloria served as the first Director for Veterans Employment & Initiatives for the U.S. Ability One Commission, an independent federal agency and the single largest employer of people who are blind or severely disabled. In this congressionally mandated position, she executed the first Department of Labor Disability Apprenticeship program focused on leveraging federal procurement programs to create training and employment opportunities for wounded Veterans and people with disabilities and vision loss.
Gloria holds a Doctorate from Northcentral University with a concentration in Psychological Trauma and a Masters of Business Administration, International Business Human Resource Management from Trident University. She is a lifetime member of the NAACP, recipient of the 2021 Fannie Lou Hamer Award, 2021 Anne Arundel County Michelle Obama Award, NAACP Business of the Year, and serves on the Board of Directors for Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation. She is an active community organizer and member of various veteran and military service organizations. Gloria is married to Command Sergeant Major Kennis Dent, US Army Retired, they have three children and reside in Severn, Maryland.
