LaShaune Stitt, EdD


LaShaune Stitt, EdD, is an educational leader, social justice advocate, and community engagement specialist with over 25 years of experience championing equitable education. Dr. Stitt is a dedicated speaker, coach, and trainer, specializing in Culturally Responsive Teaching, Social Justice Sustainability, and women’s empowerment. She co-founded an all-male high school in the Bronx, NY, and has served as a teacher and administrator in urban settings across New York City, Richmond, VA, and Baltimore, MD. Her work includes coaching aspiring school founders, mentoring novice teachers, facilitating culturally responsive teaching workshops, and overseeing educator pathway programs in her role with the New York City Department of Education. Dr. Stitt holds degrees from City College of NY, Mercy College, University of Scranton, and Northeastern University.

In 2013, Dr. Stitt founded Women of the World, LLC, to empower women as leaders within their families and communities. In 2020, she established Educate the World, Inc., where she served as Executive Director, developing programs for personal advancement, economic mobility, wellness workshops, and identity-affirming events for students, families, teachers, and community partners in both virtual and in-person settings. Dr. Stitt remains dedicated to addressing issues impacting BIPOC students and families through her voluntary roles throughout Maryland. As the newly elected Chair of the Maryland State Commission for Women, she continues to champion the rights and empowerment of women.
