Nichelle Schoultz

Nichelle Schoultz has dedicated her professional career to public service, serving in senior roles for some of Maryland’s most notable political leaders, including her current position as District Director for Congressman Steny Hoyer. In this role, she oversees the constituent services operation, develops impactful community engagement strategies and advises the Congressman on key issues in the district. Nichelle previously served as Senior Advisor to the 14th Librarian of Congress, Dr. Carla Hayden, the first woman and African American to hold that position. She developed strategic partnerships with cultural institutions, embassies and community organizations, to enhance the Library of Congress services and programs and make them more accessible. Prior to joining the Library of Congress, she served as District Director for Anthony Brown, former Member, U.S. House of Representatives and as State Director for Barbara Mikulski, retired U.S. Senator.
She also worked in the non-profit sector for the Epilepsy Foundation, coordinating the Foundation’s advocacy activities and legislative priorities. A strong commitment to community service and civic engagement, Nichelle volunteers her time with several organizations including Sisters In Touch, The Congressional Award and the Annapolis Chapter of The Links, Inc. She has been recognized for her professional and philanthropic work by The Daily Record as one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women, Greater Baden Medical Services as a “Wall of Champion” honoree and is the recipient of the Jefferson Award for public and community service.
