CECIL COUNTY

Cecil County FIA is a prime example of this year’s theme, Stronger Together. Our Cecil Team has stuck together and remained strong in the midst of many changes after the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency ended. Although extremely short-staffed, we continue to provide services in a timely manner to help resolve the many and varied needs of our customers. As a result, our team has repeatedly achieved a 100% compliance rate for the exemplary service we provide clients in our community.

As our agency prepares for the shift to Statewide Processing Management, everyone on our staff has become familiar with the various programs and services we provide. In times of high customer demand, our workers don’t hesitate to pitch in and lend a helping hand so that no one falls behind in completing their tasks. Teamwork makes the dream work!

Cecil County DSS has made several significant efforts to better serve our county residents such as developing interagency procedures for Emergency Assistance so that we are able to deliver service faster and more efficiently. Our efforts working with unemployed clients receiving benefits have led to a substantial increase in the number of participants in the agency’s Work Incentive Self-Help (WISH) program who have obtained their GED Certificate.

Every employee in our office is important in achieving our success. In recognition of our staff’s hard work and dedication, Cecil County DSS held a retreat. The retreat helped our staff build morale for better teamwork, create deeper bonds, and learn new relaxation techniques to alleviate stress.

We appreciate and thank each one of you for your commitment and true dedication to serving the people of Cecil County. We would especially like to recognize Viola Clark as she celebrates her 50th Anniversary with the State of Maryland! Browse our display to learn more about Cecil County DSS as well as Viola’s long career at FIA. Thank you, Cecil FIA team!
