Respite Care Program – a break for family caregivers

The program offers short-term care in order to provide a period of rest and renewal to family caregivers by temporarily relieving them of the demands and stresses of caregiving responsibilities. Respite care is provided at planned intervals, in a time of crisis, or on an as-needed basis. We serve children and adults with developmental disabilities and adults with functional disabilities, and their families. The program can be accessed statewide through a local Department of Social Services or through private non-profit agencies that are recipients of grants from the DHS. Contact your local Department of Social Services in your jurisdiction.
