St. MARY’S COUNTY

St Mary’s County Family Investment team consists of our Intake & Ongoing Case Management units, the W.O.R.K program team. and our Customer Care Team (CCT). We are located in Southern Maryland, a beautiful rural county surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay and Patuxent & Potomac Rivers. It is a melting pot of people, cultures, and influences due to our proximity to Patuxent Naval Base, Baltimore City, and Washington DC.

Our amazing team strives daily to assist the citizens of St. Mary’s County in obtaining the benefits they need while providing world-class customer service to every customer.

We are a close-knit team of long-termers and newbies that help each other and our customers navigate the benefits systems, reduce barriers to self-sufficiency, and increase access to public programs and services. We harness our different strengths and knowledge to work together and serve the residents of our county.

Over the past year, our small but devoted team of workers has completed 6,158 applications across all programs (SNAP, TCA, TDAP, MA, EA, LTC). We implemented a new phone system to better process the increased number of calls for assistance we received in the wake of the COVID Public Health Emergency.

Our CCT Team is available to resolve customer concerns at the first point of contact, keeping customers informed and reducing wait times for benefits! Our W.O.R.K.S. program team has strengthened our community partnerships to help clients who receive Temporary Cash Assistance remove barriers in their lives and help them in their quest to become self-sufficient, employed, and better educated.
