Youth Advisory Board

“I’m part of the Youth Advisory Board and I met some friends on there, we go through the same problems we can come together and talk. It’s really helpful.” –Isherra

The BCDSS Youth Advisory Board

The Youth Advisory Board meets every month. Youth in foster care and independent living come together to discuss their lives, school, social situations, and other topics. They also provide valuable input to Baltimore City Social Services on how to improve foster care. The Youth Advisory Board holds special events, field trips, delicious dinners, and offers great connections and networking opportunities.

“They know that I’ll advocate for them if it’s something that I think they should have…and not just for the youth from the Youth Advisory Board. It’s pretty much all the youth that I work with.” — Martina Washington, Youth Advisory Board Advisor.
